Snowball Effect

I listened to my dad being interviewed on Island Morning this morning and was so proud of him! It reminds me of the days when he was a colonel in the air force and commander of Shearwater Air Force Base in Nova Scotia.

His blog, Health PEI got 160 hits yesterday - BEFORE the interview. The most mine has ever gotten is 41. Although because I’m linked to his blog (thanks for the credit Sandy) mine was around 80 yesterday - today over 100. Many people are concerned with the lack of doctors on PEI and what appears to be a crisis of the health care system.

He just called to tell me that a TV reporter is on her way out to interview him and he’ll be on Compass tonight.

This whole snowball effect is what I talked about in my post the other day and I think it worthwhile to mention my favorite quote again. As well - the purpose of my consulting practice is to help people spread ideas.

I’m willing to use the domain name www.healthpei.com and turn it into a marketing tool to attract nurse practitioners and doctors (with my dad’s agreement). I also happen to own www.peihealth.com and www.healthypei.com - perfect to use to spread the idea that PEI is a healthy, wonderful place to live and set up a practice. Just an idea.

Health Care on PEI

Hi - Basically, my dad is not pleased that the Liberals used “every Islander will have a doctor” as a keystone of their campaign and so has started a blog - www.healthpei.com - counting the days until it happens.

I thought that if you were interested or had an experience or comment to share - this would be a good place to do it. Feel free to pass it along if you think it could help. Watch for his letters in the Eastern Graphic also.

It was fun showing my dad how to start a blog.

ps - the lack of family doctors on PEI is his main concern.

Begin it Now

I get excited about this. When someone has an idea and they decide to go forward with it and they’re excited because they’ve been thinking about it for a while. They want to do it and finally they’ve decided to get moving in that direction. They want to dispel the hesitation and commit to going in a new direction. There is a twinkle in their eye, you can tell that they are passionate about their idea. I saw that twinkle in Martina MacDonald’s (of Second Glance Interiors) eye on Saturday night at a dinner party which inspired me to write this post.

One of my favorite quotes of all time is dedicated to this:
