Squidoo. I have heard many versions of the pronunciation of this website’s name. People have a tendency to repeat the name over and over until they get it right. Interesting comments regarding Squidoo, what it sounds like, where it came from, what it actually is, why it is named that, etc. are what lead me to this post.

My theory on why he named it Squidoo is because HE KNEW people would say “what?” when they heard it. He KNEW people would repeat it and ask about it. He knew it would stick in their heads. Just like any entrepreneur wants their product or service to stick in their customer’s heads.
