Day in the Life: Update
We are about to launch a new site which I am VERY excited about.
I am working with clients this week on launching a new version of a site which is going to be really innovative, expansive and fun.
Last month we pitched the Guardian on doing an article on another client and they agreed which parlays into approximately $1500 worth of advertising for him. He’s pretty pleased - my VA Jaime takes the credit for this one. We are also launching his new newsletter this week.
I meet with Kay Docherty from the Guardian tomorrow to talk about my “business builder” package as part of my advertising package that I won through the Chamber of Commerce. Also, Trish Walsh (who reminded me that I won a DVD player from Kwik Kopy another time) and I are meeting about my credit with them for printing.
I’ve been working away on my strategy, trying to make the most of it all, super excited.
In between dropping off my little guy to kindergarten and my meeting with Kay tomorrow, I get to look after my friend’s wee one as she had another chemo treatment today and is very sick.
It’s a roller-coaster, I tell ya.
Today we dropped off a framed print of my son’s painting of Ted the penguin (from his water colour series on penguins), to someone who bought one of his prints for $100 (so what if it was his aunt and uncle, he’s practically Picasso in my eyes) to go towards the fundraiser last week.
I dropped off the original painting to Chrissy on her birthday, this past Friday. Paul MacNeill from Island Press Ltd., who was the winner, decided it wasn’t a good idea to take Ted home because he thought it may be a bit insulting to his own kids to have framed artwork of other children’s paintings. Chrissy was very touched and her brother, Ted, is coming from California next week. Maybe I’ll sell him a print too, teehee.
This blog will hopefully be mutating into two fairly soon. I want to find a way to extrapolate all of my personal posts OUT so that this blog and site are as informative and professional as possible. And I can keep my personal, boring ramblings to myself on another blog.
I kind of want to write a book to tell you the truth, always have. But the idea of accomplishing that completely overwhelms me. However, by building up the content through this blog I’ve started to get a bit of direction in what I want to say.
Last, but not least, I am bound and determined to enjoy the beautiful (weather) tomorrow.
