Day in the Life: Fun and Networking

Dinner at my client/friend/cousin’s place on Saturday night with five other women with strong, dynamic personalities. Including Laura Anne Winters from Tourism, Tammy from MyInspiredLife.com, Lolita the best gel nailer in Charlottetown, and Jen a world traveling teacher. Of course, the hostess with the most-ess, Ms. Shelley Rector.

Red wine, salmon, escargot, bok choy and red peppers, greek salad, tasty squares and LOTS of great conversations.

Then off to a sports bar to watch UFC and play pool with my other clients Mickey Rose of www.MRSeafoods.com and Greg Aitken of www.SpecialtyChowders.com who were out with a gang of guys including Terry, another teacher, basketball player and coach from town, Jules who is one of the new owners of the North Lake Fisheries, Blair who works for Mickey and is an oyster fisher, and a couple of other nice guys who’s name escape me.

We had an absolute blast. Jules and I played the best of three and it came down to the wire with me losing on the last ball… quite disappointing although somehow I still got a beer out of it.

Isey’s Sports Bar was packed and full of people - we barely got in - watching a sport I have never heard of before and what appeared at times to be two men mounting each other with people cheering on. It was such a HUGE, energetic crowd, I couldn’t believe it. I was pretty focused on playing pool and tried to ignore the fighting but for all it was pretty good vibes and an eclectic crowd which was refreshing.

I missed my friend Lori Mayne who headed to the Gate and my friend Gregg McCardle who was having an impromptu party in Startford.
