A Day in the Life: Summer fun
Thank-you to my friend Dieter who shared this slideshow with me: “What the f**k is social media?” Which is funny because I saw it on Slideshare recently and thought to myself - I wonder if that would fly on PEI? It would sure get some attention.
Secondly - a shout-out to BRUCE who’s girlfriend, Laura, is a superstar at Tourism PEI and is the catalyst for arranging a wonderful afternoon for my boys and I yesterday at a brilliant folk art shop owned by Island artist Kerras Jeffrey. Laura asked if the boys and I would be interested in doing a photo shoot for Tourism PEI and we had the pleasure of working with the talented Mr. John Sylvester who put us all at ease and got terrific shots of my sons sanding and painting pieces of wood that turned into folk art fish. My boys have proudly shown every single person they have come across in the past 24 hours.
The reason I mention Bruce is because I got a note from him the other day saying that I oughta get blogging again - where have I been? Laura happened to mention this to John Sylvester who asked for my business card and I was embarrassed to admit that I had none with me. “What kind of marketer can you be then?” to which I replied, “One who changes purses too much apparently.”
More embarrassment ensued when we were at my family’s house for supper after the photo shoot and I realized my son had his shorts on (and underwear for that matter) backwards throughout the entire shoot.
I can’t say enough about Kerras and his folk art and the facility. It took almost two hours to get there but I highly recommend making the trip and felt very privileged to find out about some of the amazing pieces of art throughout the property from the personal tour he gave us. He also gave me a cd of pictures of his inventory and if I can get my computer working properly I will post some of the most interesting pieces.
In the meantime check out the website for more information on Back Road Folk Art.
