Exercise for compiling keywords

If you can imagine your best perspective client (who hasn’t found you yet) looking for you at 10pm at night when your product or service happened to pop into her head - what search terms does she type into Google to find you?

Four things to do here:

1. Define your “best perspective client” to a tee, as much as possible.

2. Compile a list of keywords that they may think of and type in, pertinent to your product or service.

3. Type some of those keywords into Google yourself and see what comes up (your competition).

4. See what keywords some of those guys are using in their copy and add those to your list.

Try it. It’s an excellent exercise to start with if you are looking to optimize your website with keywords or launch a PR campaign - again - using those keywords.

Ever Heard of Slideshare?

I thought I’d share with you an incredible site that I found called Slideshare. The following slideshow is something I’m interested in: content and marketing however you can search through the site and see if there’s a slideshow of a topic that you’re interested in. No audio that I’ve found so far but it is great for ideas and once again, an excellent learning tool, in my opinion.
I love it because I don’t get the chance to go to too many presentations and seminars because of geographic restraints so this site has given me a taste of what is going on in the big, global workplace of ours.

Different types of blogs

I’m having a bit of a tough time with the direction of my blog, mostly because as of late I’ve started exploring a whole new world of blogging and have fallen into the trap of comparing my blog to other’s. Ever since I joined the Blogging Authority Forum when a whole “pack” of us joined from Twitter, Read more »

Pitter patter Twitter matters

Please forgive the title. Twitter has forced me to try and be witty in 140 characters or less - it occurred to me while driving today.

As per usual it was my witty and clever VA who told me to join Twitter. I did and less than a week later I am beginning to realize the potential of this social networking tool. I’ve actually graduated to using twhril to post my Twitter updates and am now hopefully looked upon as not so much of a newbie/rookie anymore. Read more »
